I’m a facilitator with Writing Sense, a creative writing programme offering former boarders the opportunity to explore their experiences through words, reflection and storytelling.
Many former boarders carry experiences that continue to shape how they understand themselves and their relationships. I recognise that these experiences are rarely a single story of either harm or resilience. They can be complex, contradictory and deeply personal.
Writing Sense offers a unique way of exploring these experiences through shared texts, creative writing, gentle embodied practices, reflection, and conversation. Together, these create opportunities to become curious about the stories we have inherited, the ways we have adapted to earlier experiences, and the possibilities that emerge when those stories are encountered from new perspectives. Those engaging in sessions can not only gain a fuller understanding of the past but also infer what meaning it may still hold for them today.
You don’t need any previous writing experience, just a willingness to be curious about your own story.Â
